Testing Application: Accelerated Epoxy Curing and Environmental Simulation for Battery Packs
A prominent company in the battery manufacturing and advanced electronics sector approached Associated Environmental Systems (AES) seeking a environmental test chamber to accelerate the curing process of an epoxy adhesive used on assembled battery units containing batteries, plastics, and PCBAs.
The challenge? The client needed a system capable of precisely maintaining curing temperatures of 55°C for 30 to 60 minutes while safely managing potential epoxy outgassing. The solution also required integrated humidity control, exceptional temperature stability, a compact footprint suitable for their facility, and comprehensive safety features to eliminate the risk of auto-ignition while protecting surrounding electronics and components throughout the curing cycle.
AES delivered the SCH-512-4-SAFE Temperature and Humidity Battery Test Chamber, a benchtop, high-safety system built to meet the unique demands of the application.
This solution used a standard chamber in AES's line up to meet battery manufacturing testing demands in accelerated epoxy curing and safe volatile management. By combining a space-efficient benchtop design, precise dual-environmental performance specifications, and specialized outgassing safety configurations, AES delivered a system that seamlessly accelerates development and assembly cycles, prevents safety hazards, and ensures product reliability under real-world conditions. This project highlights AES's commitment to developing customized environmental test solutions that address complex manufacturing challenges, helping engineers improve efficiency, enhance safety, and drive innovation across the battery and advanced electronics industries.
