Industry: Consumer Packaged Goods
Testing Application: Environmental Stability and Airflow Performance for Household Fragrance Devices
A prominent company in the consumer packaged goods sector approached Associated Environmental Systems (AES) in need of a specialized walk-in environmental test chamber to validate the performance and reliability of plug-in scented oil fragrance diffusers.
The challenge? The client required testing for over 100 active units concurrently, each generating a live load. Additionally, the application called for strict humidity regulation (40–60% RH) and a high continuous fresh air exchange rate of 25 air changes per hour (320 CFM) without destabilizing internal ambient conditions or straining laboratory HVAC systems.
AES engineered a 191 cu ft Modular Walk-In Chamber, a high-performance, custom-built system designed to deliver precise environmental control under continuous high-volume air exchange conditions.
This solution was custom-engineered to meet consumer product safety and fragrance diffusion testing demands under continuous live heat load and high air-turnover conditions. By combining modular panelized construction, precise PID heating and refrigeration controls, and dedicated fresh-air exhaust systems, AES delivered a chamber that seamlessly integrates with existing facility airflow, accelerates development cycles, and ensures accurate product validation under real-world operating conditions.
This project highlights AES’s commitment to designing advanced, customized test solutions that help engineers push boundaries—supporting innovation in the consumer packaged goods sector and beyond.
