ASTM Specifications for Environmental Test Chambers

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)

ASTM is a large international standards development organization that represents 150 countries. Over 12,000 ASTM standards operate globally. They include standards for a large number of industries including aerospace, automotive, building and construction, chemicals, consumer products, food processing, medical devices, IT, telecommunication, manufacturing, pulp & paper, safety and security.

ASTM B117-11

Standard Practice for Operating Salt Spray (Fog) Apparatus. This practice covers the apparatus, procedure, and conditions required to create and maintain the salt spray (fog) test environment.

ASTM E1171-04

Standard Test Method for Photovoltaic Modules in Cyclic Temperature and Humidity Environments. These test methods provide procedures for stressing photovoltaic modules in simulated temperature and humidity environments.

ASTM D4169

Testing the performance of shipping containers and systems. This standard provides a uniform basis for evaluating the ability of shipping containers to withstand the distribution environment.

ASTM D2247

Testing coatings' water resistance by exposing them to a relative humidity environment. The goal is to determine how well a coating can resist water exposure over a period of time, which is critical for applications where the coated surface will encounter high humidity conditions.
