Walk in Room
Industry: Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry
Testing Application: Advanced Environmental Stress and Reliability Testing
A trusted partner of choice for safety, security, and sustainability solutions approached AES in need of a highly advanced, large-scale walk-in environmental test chamber to validate product performance under extreme thermal and humidity conditions while managing significant live loads.
The challenge? The project required a massive internal workspace capable of handling a 30kW live load and 3,000 lbs of aluminum while maintaining precise 1.0°C/minute ramp rates. Furthermore, the system needed to achieve deep sub-zero temperatures (65°C) and manage complex humidity requirements, all within a footprint that required a remote machine pack and a specialized modular installation.
The AES Solution
AES engineered a Customized Walk-In Temperature and Humidity Chamber for the company. This walk in room is a high-performance, modular system built to meet the unique demands of the application.
- Large Workspace: The chamber features an expansive internal volume with usable dimensions of 15'-2" W x 13'-2" D x 9'-2 3/4" H, accommodating large-scale equipment through a 9' H x 8' W double-swing bi-part door system.
- Extreme Thermal Performance: This system delivers a wide temperature range of 65°C to 85°C, capable of maintaining a 1.0°C/minute ramp rate even under substantial live loads, ensuring rigorous stress testing capabilities.
- Advanced Control & Connectivity: Integrated with AESONE CONNECT and the Watlow F4T touchscreen programmable controller, the system offers Ethernet communication and digital PID control for precise, automated test sequences. AESONE CONNECT gives you the ability to remotely monitor and set up profiles while not directly at your chamber
- Rugged, Custom Construction: Built for durability and heavy-duty use, the chamber features 5" Insulframe stainless steel interior walls and a reinforced floor capable of supporting 600 lbs/sqft.
- Phase-Based Modular Installation: To ensure a seamless startup, AES utilized a three-phase installation process led by factory-trained service techs. This included erecting the panelized room, integrating the remote machine pack, and performing final commissioning to validate operation and ISO/IEC 17025 calibration.
