Humidity Safety Chamber with CO2 Control
Industry: Carbon Removal & Climate Tech
Testing Application: Simulating Real-World Ambient Conditions for Direct Air Capture (DAC) Validation
A pioneering company in the climate tech and carbon removal industry approached Associated Environmental Systems (AES) in need of a specially engineered benchtop test system to replicate populated environmental conditions and validate the performance of their carbon capture technology.
The challenge? The system needed to accurately simulate "Earthly conditions", specifically ambient temperatures and variable humidity, while managing a continuous 0.2 kg/hour water vapor loss during the capture phase and integrating automated CO2 control via a custom-designed ducting system.
The AES Solution
AES engineered the SCH-512-4-SAFE Benchtop Temperature and Humidity System, a standard chamber in AES's product line up with custom add ons built to meet the unique demands of the application.
-
Vaisala GMP252 Carbon Dioxide Probe: This high accuracy probe is integrated to monitor CO2 levels within the chamber’s conditioned environment, providing the critical data needed for precise atmospheric simulation.
-
Dynamic Humidity Replenishment: Designed to compensate for a 0.2 kg/hour water vapor loss, this feature ensures the 12.95 cubic foot workspace maintains a stable 10 to 95% RH range even during active carbon capture cycles.
-
AESONE CONNECT and JSON API: The system includes remote monitoring and data logging from a customizable dashboard, allowing for seamless integration and control via an HTTP JSON API over Ethernet.
-
Custom Ducting and Port Configuration: AES designed specialized rear port flanges to accommodate custom ducting, facilitating a targeted 100 LPM airflow from the conditioned chamber to the carbon capture device.
Crafting Your Perfect Test Set Up
