AES at AABC 2025: Show Recap & Looking Ahead

From December 9–11, Associated Environmental Systems (AES) exhibited at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) 2025, where industry leaders, innovators, and engineers gathered to discuss the future of electric vehicle and automotive battery technology. Throughout the week, our team welcomed attendees to Booth 614, connecting with battery developers, OEMs, and lab engineers focused on advancing safer, more scalable battery testing solutions.
AABC 2025 Highlights
AABC once again proved to be a must-attend event for the battery industry, offering valuable conversations around next-generation chemistries, EV validation challenges, and the infrastructure required to support rapid innovation. For AES, the show was a great opportunity to demonstrate how our environmental test chamber integrations continue to evolve alongside the growing demands of automotive battery testing.
We were especially proud to share that AES was nominated as a Best of Show finalist for our battery testing solution,ATPHEAVY Cassette.
ATPHEAVY Cassette
At AABC 2025, AES officially showcased the ATPHEAVY Cassette, our latest advancement in high-current battery test integration, purpose-built for EV and automotive battery development. Designed for use in large-volume environmental chambers, the ATPHEAVY Cassette enables high-density, safe validation of full-scale cells, modules, and emerging battery chemistries critical to next-generation electric mobility.
Each ATPHEAVY Cassette supports 300 amps across two independent channels, with the ability to scale up to 600 amps when channels are combined. This flexibility allows automotive labs to:
-
Run simultaneous test profiles within a single chamber
-
Test different chemistries or form factors at the same time
Unlike traditional sliding-shelf designs, every ATPHEAVY Cassette functions as a fully removable, self-contained unit. Users can swap, service, or reconfigure test loads without shutting down the full test setup or reaching deep into the chamber workspace—minimizing downtime and improving ergonomics.
The cassette locks into a fixed backplane, keeping all cabling secured and in place. This design significantly reduces wiring complexity, shortens cable runs, improves airflow, and enhances overall safety—key advantages when running high-current profiles and demanding thermal stress tests.
Key innovations include:
-
300 A per channel, scalable to 600 A
-
Independent channel control for testing multiple chemistries, formats, or protocols in one system
-
Fully removable cassette for fast, ergonomic cell swaps
-
Silver-plated bus bars and contacts for low-resistance performance
-
Fixed backplane design for cleaner wiring and improved thermal stability
On the Show Floor
AES was represented at AABC by Nick DiCeglie, Account Executive – West Coast, and Aaron Robinson, VP of Sales and Service. Throughout the event, they met with customers and industry peers to discuss real-world testing challenges and how AES integrates environmental chambers, battery fixtures, and cycler-ready solutions into a single, scalable testing platform.
Wrapping Up the 2025 Trade Show Season
