A leading innovator in MEMS-based gas sensor technology is setting new standards in industrial safety, smart home solutions, and environmental monitoring. Their sensors must deliver uncompromising accuracy and maintain long-term stability—qualities heavily influenced by environmental conditions and material integrity. To achieve this, they turned to AES for custom humidity chamber tailored to their needs.


The AES Solution

To support the customer’s goal of eliminating contamination risks and ensuring sensor performance, AES delivered three customized HD-210 humidity test chambers. These chambers were engineered to provide a silicon free environment, critical because silicone-based materials can outgas trace amounts of silicon, which could interfere with or damage sensitive MEMS-based sensors.

  • Silicone-Free Components: AES replaced all silicone components, including the door gasket, steam generator hose, and internal sealant with non-silicone alternatives. This modification ensures the test environment remains completely free from outgassing, preserving the accuracy and longevity of the sensors under test.
  • Global Testing Flexibility: Each chamber was equipped with a PowerFlow Hub, a feature that enables easy shipment and operation in multiple regions, such as Thailand, by adapting the power supply without major internal modifications. This addition allows the customer to maintain consistent testing protocols across global facilities.
  • Performance: Despite the custom modifications, these chambers are built on the foundation of the HD-210 design, maintaining a temperature range of −70 °C to 180 °C and a humidity range of 10–95% RH.
  • Integrated Control and Connectivity: Each chamber includes AESONE CONNECT® with a 4.3-inch touchscreen controller, providing remote monitoring, data logging, and precise environmental control for every test cycle.
