Testing Application: Battery Performance & Safety Validation

A leading company in the power management sector turned to Associated Environmental Systems (AES) with a specialized request: a high-performance battery test chamber equipped for safety, flexibility, and remote monitoring. One of their top priorities? The ability to visually monitor thermal events in real time—without needing to be physically present. AES met the challenge head-on, developing a custom camera integration that gave their team full visibility throughout testing.

In addition to advanced monitoring, they required precise temperature control, ample internal workspace, and built-in safety features—tailored to support their evolving R&D needs.


The AES Solution

AES delivered by engineering the FD-527-7.5-SAFE a temperature only test chamber optimized  for high-performance battery testing.

  • Chamber Workspace: With an internal size of 36 x 36 x 36 inches (27 cu. ft.), the chamber offers plenty of room for large-format battery modules or multiple smaller units—all in one controlled environment.
  • Precision Temperature Control: Capable of maintaining temperatures from -40°C to 180°C (-40°F to 365°F), this chamber ensures tight control and exceptional stability (±0.5°C). It also features a fast IEC pull-down rate, helping teams accelerate test cycles while maintaining accuracy and repeatability.

  • Smart Monitoring & Safety: Equipped with AESONE CONNECT®, the chamber supports real-time remote monitoring and data logging. It features a user-friendly 4.3-inch touchscreen controller, and integrated DUT (Device Under Test) monitoring with a thermocouple and two analog inputs (supporting up to 1,000V and 450A). If a DUT exceeds a specified temperature, the chamber automatically shuts down to prevent safety risks.

  • Enhanced Visibility & Custom Features: To enable precise visual tracking, AES integrated a high-quality Panasonic HC-V785 camera with heated viewing glass, a protective cover, and a bright light ring for clear visibility even during high-intensity testing. The chamber also includes custom 6-inch ports (up from the standard 3 inches) to allow greater flexibility in routing cables and connections. The customer opted for an extended 2-year warranty and received on-site installation and service support from the AES team.
