The MX series is AES’ salt spray test chamber. Completely self contained, the MX series salt spray chamber allows for test items to be subjected to a corrosive environment without introducing other contaminants into the test area. The standard MX salt spray test chamber is compliant with ASTM-B117, MIL-STD-202F, MIL-STD-750B, MIL-STD-810D standards for corrosion testing and can be modified to meet MIL-STD-883C and MIL-STD-19500. The MX series is the only clear sided salt spray test chamber on the market allowing for total product viewing during testing unlike our competitors’ test chambers.
The preparation of a salt solution consists normally of sodium chloride, containing 0.1% of sodium iodide and not more than 0.2% of total impurities, that is dissolved, 5 parts ion weight, into 95 parts of distilled water.
It is important to maintain this solution at a specific gravity of 1.023 to 1.037. The solution is maintained at a controlled temperature of 95°F by the test chamber's own integral temperature control system (temperature is adjustable).
Testing may be automated for up to 72 hours and even extended by adding an external storage tank, a tower level control and a salt spray solution reservoir level control to automatically refill the system.
Corrosion test chambers conform to military specifications including MIL-STD-810 and are also used for many commercial and ASTM specifications. Our chamber manufacturing, testing procedure and testing parameters are standardized under national and international standards, ASTM B117 and ISO 9227.
The MX Series Salt Spray Test Chambers will accommodate the following specifications:
The MX Series Salt Spray Test Chambers will accommodate:
A push button controller with segmented displays. Has optional RS-232 or RS-485 serial communication.
Highly accurate sensor made from platinum components for increased sensitivity.
We offer multiple types of safeties on our test chambers to help protect your product and your test chamber if anything malfunctions.
A heat fuse or thermal fuse, will interrupt the flow of electricity to the heater and shut it down if it reaches a certain temperature.
